Stuttgart Airport Beer Fest‍‍‍

This in‍‍‍tegrated campaign was developed to raise awareness of Stuttgart Airport amongst London travellers, positioning it as the gateway to popular southwest German travel destinations and events. The campaign centred around Stuttgart’s famous Cannstatter Wasen Beer Fest with an evocative experiential event in the Stansted Airport catchment area of East London, and was supported by OOH, social media, and influencer amplification.

‍‍‍Campaign Delivery

Designed to bring a taste of Stuttgart’s Cannstatter Wasen Beer Fest to London, and take advantage of the popularity of beer fests in the UK, the lively Stuttgart Airport Beer Fest experiential event took place on Sunday 30th July 2017 at BOXPARK Shoreditch, in the heart of East London and close to Liverpool Street station with its direct transport links to Stansted Airport – perfect to reach both young urban professionals and Stansted Airport commuters.

Influencer and social media shout outs in the run up to the experiential event publicised it in advance, amplifying the campaigns reach whilst also enticing a wider London audience. Competition scratch cards were used to engage passers-by with the opportunity to win typical German beer fest specialities such as Rothaus beer, German Wursts, Lebkuchen, plus many Stuttgart Airport branded giveaways – as well as a bonus chance to win a trip to the actual Cannstatter Wasen in Stuttgart later in the year.

Digital OOH screens at both Gatwick and Stansted Airport enabled the campaign to reach an even wider audience, with the added opportunity of accumulated brand exposure to those passing through all three locations. Subsequent to the experiential event these screens continued to promote both Stuttgart Airport and the Cannstatter Wasen for the remainder of the summer.
